Review of Current Stormwater Engineering Standards and Criteria for Rainfall and Runoff Modeling in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed_Memo 2

Review of Current Stormwater Engineering Standards and Criteria for Rainfall and Runoff Modeling in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed (October 2020), developed by the Chesapeake Stormwater Network, reviews the precipitation data sources, hydrologic models, and state-level engineering criteria used to design stormwater systems across the watershed. It finds that most standards rely on outdated or inconsistent rainfall assumptions and have not yet incorporated climate resilience updates, creating potential risks for BMP performance and infrastructure planning under changing precipitation conditions.
