New and innovative approaches to stormwater management
Communities across the Chesapeake Bay watershed are always seeking new and innovative approaches to address flooding, as well as nutrient and sediment pollution.

As these approaches are adopted, the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Urban Stormwater Workgroup convenes panels of experts to review and approve them for pollutant reduction credit under the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) framework.

If you are looking for a BMP or expert panel report not listed above, please check out the following resources. Here you can find information and guidance on residential stewardship practices, enhanced erosion and sediment control, advanced septic systems and more. You can also find the reports that walk through how the more traditional stormwater BMPs fit into the Bay Program’s crediting framework as retrofits, or new and redevelopment practices.
