Stormwater management in Virginia is changing rapidly.  For local government staff, consultants, the development community, and other stakeholders it is critical to keep up to date on regulations, timelines, and all the available administrative and technical implementation tools.  That is the purpose of this webcast, sponsored by the Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Training Partnership and Virginia DCR.

The webcast will review major regulatory changes associated with the adopted stormwater management regulations in Virginia and the “integration bill” passed by the General Assembly earlier this year.  The webcast will outline the timeline for local governments to adopt stormwater ordinances and other programmatic elements, describe state-level planning tools to assist with this process, and discuss different technical and administrative training opportunities on the horizon.  These tools will include a model ordinance, compliance spreadsheet, Virginia Stormwater BMP Clearinghouse, training, and the e-permitting website to assist with permit issuance and tracking.

The webcast will be interactive and offer an opportunity to ask questions via a chat room.  The speakers for this webcast will be Ginny Snead, Joan Salvati, and Scott Crafton from Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Joe Battiata from the Center for Watershed Protection.
