Mosquitoes and Bioswales


It is generally believed that mosquito breeding will not take place in most BMP water ponds due to the expected drainage of 1-2 days. However, a report on mosquito breeding in bioswales in Delaware by the Dept of Entomology & Wildlife Ecology, University of Delaware, for DNREC offers some troubling data on potential mosquito production from these areas and some prevention techniques.
