Community-Led Project Planning
A frequently overlooked element of successful stormwater project implementation is meaningful community engagement. Working with key stakeholders early in the project planning phase, often before the final site selection or initial design, will ensure that the project meets a local need and has the buy-in of community members. In this webinar, we will hear from two 2021 BUBBAs winners: The Upper Watts Branch Restoration and the Mount Olivet Cemetery Green Infrastructure Project. Each of these projects faced unique challenges that were overcome by working closely with the property owners, local residents, and community stakeholders through every step of design and construction. The result was a pair of award-winning projects that now boast the support of their local communities.
