CSN Technical Bulletin No. 8, The Clipping Point: Turf Cover Estimates for the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and Management Implications (April 2010), estimates the extent and growth of turf grass across the Chesapeake Bay watershed and evaluates its environmental significance. Developed by the Chesapeake Stormwater Network, it highlights turf as a major land cover with substantial implications for nutrient loading, water use, and watershed management, and discusses opportunities to reduce impacts through changes in lawn care practices and homeowner behavior.
