Developed by the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Urban Stormwater Workgroup, this technical memo (revised August 2018) defines conservation landscaping practices and outlines the qualifying conditions, eligibility criteria, and reporting requirements needed to receive nutrient reduction credit in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Model. It helps state and local practitioners, planners, and program managers consistently apply and document conservation landscaping practices—such as converting turf to native meadow—to support water quality goals under the TMDL framework.
