Developed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, this design specification (Version 2.0, 2013) provides guidance on using permeable pavement systems to reduce stormwater runoff through infiltration and temporary storage within underlying stone reservoirs. It helps designers select appropriate pavement types, such as pervious concrete, porous asphalt, grid pavers, and interlocking concrete pavers, size structural layers, and integrate these systems into site design to manage runoff while supporting traffic loads.
